Who it is for?

Students who are ready to experiment and approach clay fearlessly.

What you might make

Heads, figures, animals, creatures, hand built pots and forms. You could also bring pieces that still need the surface addressed from previous classes at Clay west.

What to expect

Your teacher will explain other methods to change the surface and attach objects to your work. Each class will have a demonstration and students are encouraged to bring class ideas and things they would like to make. Your teacher will visit with every student every class for one on one time for critiques and to help tackle challenges that arise in the building and finishing process.

What to bring

An apron and favorite clay tools. Photos for inspiration, found objects and a curiosity to explore.
