• Please do not arrive more than 10 minutes early to the session.  The building will be unlocked 10 minutes before class begins.

• Park where you can!  We have some dedicated spaces, but park along the fence or in the grass anywhere in front of the studio. Do NOT park by the tree in front of the building, NOR in front of the dumpster / pasture gate. 

• The studio is very busy during class session times... please drive slowly and carefully as everyone comes and goes.

• Storage space is limited.  All students will have a dedicated half-shelf for personal work and materials. Please limit personal belongings and bring only the working essentials.

• Do NOT rinse food waste in the studio sinks – the facility utilizes sediment traps so food remains in the traps – yuk! Food/drink may be consumed in the building, but please refrain from eating in the classrooms around others working – definitely not advisable in glaze areas.  Food trash should land in the dumpster outside rather than trash cans inside. 

• Clean up personal work spaces, return studio materials (including boards and plastic).

• Keep in mind we are a community studio.  Limit personal work to exploratory – large scale projects and/or production runs for outside markets and sales need to be discussed with ACW staff individually. Education and experimentation should eclipse quantitative production. Be mindful that many participants need to share kiln and studio spaces. 

• ALL clay that is fired at Art Center West MUST be supplied by and purchased at Art Center West.

• Note the temperature your clay should be fired to, and place on the correct shelf accordingly to prevent damaging the kilns and other people's work.

• Open studio is available as an add-on at class registration for an additional fee.  Open studio times allow work at the studio, when classes are not in session, without instruction. We encourage participants to take advantage of these times, but ask that you be respectful in terms of the start and end times. Please clean up and be ready to leave at the closing time.
